Overview
Beam has two types of experts — and the difference matters when you're trusting someone with a strategic decision.
Open network
Any AI practitioner can create a Beam profile and start sharing their expertise within their own network. They get a personal Beam link, can offer calls, and build their practice independently. Think of it as their own corner of the platform — useful for them, but not part of the matched question pool.
Vetted experts
To receive questions through Beam's matching algorithm — meaning to show up as a match when you submit your question — experts must apply and be approved. We look at actual implementation experience, not just credentials or job titles.
These are the people you interact with on Beam. Practitioners who have navigated real AI decisions in real organizations, across real industries, with real constraints.
What vetted experts bring
Hands-on implementation experience Not theorists. Not generalists. People who have been in the room where the decision was made and lived with the outcome.
Domain depth Tool selection, build vs. buy, implementation, organizational change, cost and risk. Each expert has specific areas of genuine depth.
Industry coverage The vetted network spans multiple industries and company sizes — from scale-ups to enterprises — so your context is rarely unique to them.
Current knowledge Beam experts are active practitioners. Their knowledge reflects what's happening in AI right now, not two years ago.
How experts are matched to your question
You don't browse a list and pick. Beam's algorithm matches your question to the most relevant vetted experts based on your specific challenge, industry, and decision type. The experts who respond are the ones best positioned to help — not the ones who self-selected.
Common questions
Can I choose my own expert? → You don't pick upfront — Beam matches you first. After reading expert answers, you choose who to book a call with.
Are all experts on Beam vetted? → Not all — anyone can create a Beam profile. But only approved experts get access to the matched question pool. Those are the experts you'll interact with.
How many vetted experts are in the network? → Beam works with a curated network of vetted AI practitioners, with primary supply through our partnership with Cronos Group — one of Europe's largest tech communities.
Can I see an expert's background before booking? → Yes. Once matched, you can review their profile and read their answer to your question before deciding to book.
What if the matched expert isn't the right fit? → Their answer is your first filter. If it doesn't resonate, you're not obligated to book.
